Great for TravelAug 20, 2008
By Sheri Leishman My 4 year old little boy got this for his birthday (about a month ago). We took it the next day on a 14 hour car ride. This was such a hit. He loved that it was more like his cousin's Nintendo DS with the pen. Even my 2 year old likes to play it. Great product and so far no problems even though it's been dropped and I keep thinking they are going to pull the pen out, but they don't and it works great. I love that it can hook into the TV as well, so there's no need to buy both the regular v smile and a pocket. My kids fight over it, so I'm going to get another one for my little girls 3rd birthday in Oct.

Vtech V.Smile Cyber PocketJan 13, 2009

My 5-yr. old son loves his new Cyber Pocket. He had the original Vtech V.Smile console, that for no reason at all died this past summer. The Cyber pocket plays his previously played console games and came with a new alien game, which is all very fun to him. The product runs on batteries, which Vtech surprisingly includes the first set for ready play. However, the batteries do not last long for extended play and rechargeable batteries are not recommended for use by the Vtech company - not sure why. So my suggestion would be to by the wall plug adapter to save on the waste and money spent on batteries over and over again. My other complaint is that the screen came with a scratch on it already and should come with a plastic protector sheet since it is used by children. Another suggestion is that the volume and screen brightness adjustments are located in the very front where the product gets rubbed against the stomach occasionally and therefore adjusts the controls without wanting to. I placed a small piece of scotch tape over them and that has solved this issue and is easy to remove if future adjustments are needed. Overall my son loves it, plays with it often and even loves it more than the console since it is so portable. As long as he is happy, I am too.

By Jill A. Pope has anyone had problems with the cyber smile shutting off while playing it or not turning on at all? i have exchanged it three times and they all stop working while my kid is playing with it and then don't turn back on at all....just wondering if i found all three defective ones or if anyone else has the same problem.

Great idea if it would work rightFeb 09, 2009
By C. Ashlock I purchased the original V.smile a year or so ago for my son and it stopped working last month. I just thought maybe he dropped it or something so decided to replace it with the Cyber Pocket. I bought one and it was great that night but when he went to use it the next morning it wouldn't turn on. I exchanged it and the second one only last about 5 minutes. When I called the company to complain they didn't even apologize. All they would say was to reset it. While this did work I have to do it every time I put a new game in and that's just not worth the hassle. I love the idea of Cyber Pocket and wish it would work correctly but now I'm going to look at the Leapfrog products.

BOYCOTT V-TECH NO MORE CHEAP TOYS!!!!Feb 10, 2009

"NO MORE CHEAP TOYS"
My mother bought my three sons a v-smile console for Christmas last year and as Grandmas do, went overboard buying every single game she could find. She also purchased extra controllers, charger, adapter, you name it. This toy began powering itself off after the second or third use and never came back on. Exchanged it for a new one that did the same thing. Exchanged THAT for a v-smile pocket hoping for better luck and THAT did the same thing after about 5 uses! It also would not release the cartridges! Wrote to v-tech and was continually insulted and patronized by their associates, never been so upset with any company in my life! I have done research into this and found many other parents say the same! Look this up, you will find it! V-tech told me to keep the games and the unit cleaner, now I ask how dirty it could be after a couple of uses? Complete waste of a lot of Grandma's money and three heartbroken kids! I do not recommend!
